  • Pep still proud

Pep Guardiola have a surprisingly happy interview post-match, as he kept up the positivity despite another loss.

He's on his worst ever winless streak in the Champions League, but he was pleased with his side's performance tonight.

"We played good, really, really good," Pep told TNT Sports.

"We concede few, some transition happened but I am so proud for these players. They give everything and they tried and now we live in this period and hopefully we can change results.

"I know it's difficult, in the Champions League in Europe. We played really good. Today we have done really well, didn't lose many balls like in the past, we tried, we arrived in the positions.

“Against Italian teams, they defend so deep, so compact. Master of these kind of situations. We play who we are and we missed the result but the performance is there."

He added: “We have two games, we need one point maybe.

"You go to Turin, Paris, our three games away were really tough. You have to accept it.

"We will turn around, not forget that period, appreciate more what we have done in the past, what we are going to do in the future.”

  • 'This is his level'

Myles Lewis-Skelly proved he can play among Europe's elite tonight, with a brilliant performance at left-back for Arsenal.

The 18-year-old played an inverted role and his superb run and pass to Gabriel Jesus led to Bukayo Saka's first goal.

He's received plenty of praise after the game, firstly from his manager Mikel Arteta who is delighted.

Arteta said: "A word for Myles - 18-years-old and to make his debut in the Champions League is a great highlight of the game.

"What I like about him is his courage, the position he takes, how he penetrates with the ball.

"He's one of our own, he has a bright future ahead of him. As a club and a manager we have to be happy with him coming through.

"It is a great feeling to be able to change someone's life."

Saka also spoke about Lewis-Skelly, revealing: "I just said to him 'this is his level', he needs to have no doubts, play the game and have the confidence.

"We see what he's doing in training. We are pleased for him and he played a key part in the first goal.

"He just needs to keep going. I'm just so proud of him."

  • Honest assessment

Ilkay Gundogan has broken down why he thinks Manchester City are continuing to struggle in a very honest interview.

"It’s very disappointing," he said post match to TNT Sports. "We had chances to score a few goals but at the moment it feels like every attack we concede.

"I don’t know, I have a feeling sometimes we are a bit careless with duels, instead of playing simple we overcomplicate things and we missed the right timing to release the ball.

"We just lose the ball and give them counter attacks. We are built for possession, keep the ball, be strong, if you can’t do anything don't lose it.

"At the moment it’s not working out for us."

Gundogan continued: "[Confidence] is a big part of it and obviously that's a mental issue as well. You can see that.

"We sometimes, one action we miss the ball, lose a duel and you see that we drop immediately, lose the rhythm, they are able to break our rhythm with the easiest of things. They don't even need to do much.

"You have to do the simple things as good as possible. Work hard again, this is how you get confidence back, even in the game if you miss something, by doing small and simple things you get confidence back at the moment we are always doing the wrong things.

"I feel like we know exactly what's going wrong. If you look at the most part of games even today we actually didn’t play bad, created chances, just missed to score, in these kind of games if you give away once chance it's not easy to bounce back.

"We know what's going wrong it's just finding the switch to turn things around because even though we are not getting results, it doesn't feel like we are far off.

"As long as we don't find that click it's going to be tough, the only thing right now we can do, every single player needs to question themselves, to do better, how the player can individually sacrifice more to contribute to the team so we can get collectively back on our way."

  • Poor Pep

Pep Guardiola is officially on his worst ever run in Europe.

He's failed to win in three consecutive Champions League group stage/league phase games for the first time.

For Man City, this is their worst streak since 2014/15.

On top of that, City have not kept a clean sheet in eight straight away games in all competitions after tonight.

That's also Guardiola's joint-longest such run in his career.

  • How things stand

Well, let's take a look at the table...

Rather than competing for an automatic qualification place in the league phase, Man City are fighting to stay in the competition!

They're now 22nd in the table and only one point above the positions that will be eliminated at the first attempt.

PSG sit below them, so that next fixture between the two teams will be unbelievably crucial to their hopes.

At the top, Liverpool are sitting pretty, while Arsenal and Aston Villa now sit inside the top five.

There are only two gameweeks to go in the New Year.

Surely City can't go out at the first hurdle, right?

  • Slump continues

What on earth is going on with Man City?

Another loss tonight adds to their misery in recent weeks.

It's never been worse than this for Pep Guardiola and this has become a problem that is taking over the club.

Adrian Durham live on talkSPORT: "This is a criticism of the squad Guardiola has built.

"You can't fall apart because of one player."

    MANCHESTER CITY HAVE LOST AGAIN!

Pep Guardiola's dismal run continues in Turin!

Juventus have beaten City 2-0 and the Allianz Stadium is rocking, with flags being waved by every single fan.

The Premier League champions have taken a major, major blow to their Champions League qualification hopes.

It's one win in 10 games in all competitions now...

That's their worst run since 2006!

Dean Ashton live on talkSPORT: "They've been exposed again. The indecision in the defence is there for all to see.

"That edge is there in both boxes and it has to be a worry."

  • GOAL! Arsenal 3-0 Monaco: Kai Havertz

    A THIRD FOR ARSENAL!

It's so close to a hat-trick for Bukayo Saka!

He fires a bouncing shot at goal but it comes off Havertz and goes into the back of the net from close range.

A perfect night for the Gunners at the Emirates.

VAR take a look at it, but the goal is given!

  • Juventus 2-0 Man City

Pep Guardiola's side look beaten here.

It will continue their run of one win since October 26.

And it will also be back-to-back Champions League losses away from home, following a defeat to Sporting Lisbon.

Things just keep getting worse for Manchester City...

They've got less than five minutes to somehow come back.

Dean Ashton live on talkSPORT: "Every team is now looking at and targeting the break against Man City, they're so frail there."

  • GOAL! Arsenal 2-0 Monaco: Bukayo Saka

    ARSENAL HAVE WRAPPED IT UP!

    IT'S BUKAYO SAKA AGAIN!

Monaco completely mess up at the back, losing the ball in their own six yard box to Kai Havertz.

He deflects a pass into the path of Saka who curls in.

That's his second of the game and seals the Gunners' win!

He's now the second Premier League player to reach 20 goal involvements in all competitions this season, along with Mo Salah.

  • GOAL! Juventus 2-0 Man City: Weston McKennie

    ANOTHER FOR JUVENTUS!

THIS IS SO DAMAGING FOR MAN CITY!

Former Leeds midfielder Weston McKennie scores the host's second of the goal with a brilliant volley.

That might just do it for City, it's looking like another loss.

Dean Ashton live on talkSPORT: "They've got PSG away in their next game, this was crucial.

"They need to now save themselves."

  • CHANCE! Arsenal 1-0 Monaco

There has been chances at both ends!

Breel Embolo fires inches wide for Monaco at one end, with his strike skimming the side-netting as it flew past.

Then, Martin Odegaard forced a save out of Radoslaw Majecki at the other before the offside flag went up.

This game is still in the balance heading into the last 20 minutes, with Arsenal needing another goal to settle the nerves.

  • Juventus 1-0 Man City

Manchester City are piling on the pressure now.

They know they're in dire need of an equaliser here.

As things stand, they're 22nd in the Champions League table.

Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan have all had chances since City conceded.

But Juventus are holding strong at the back and they're throwing themselves in front of every effort.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Monaco

We've not missed much at the Emirates.

Monaco had a couple of chances at the start of the second half, with Thilo Kehrer heading just wide.

Arsenal haven't been as dominant on the ball as they would like, although they are starting to settle.

The Gunners are struggling to create any chances though.

We've just entered the final half an hour of tonight's games.

Darren Bent live on talkSPORT: "I think it's decision making in the final third that's letting Arsenal down."

  • GOAL! Juventus 1-0 Man City: Dusan Vlahovic

    MAN CITY ARE BEHIND!

    DUSAN VLAHOVIC HEADS IN!

Ederson thinks he's saved it, but the goal is given by the goalline technology on the referee's watch!

What a huge moment that could be for City....

They're nowhere near a top eight place, in fact, they're now on the brink of dropping out of the top 25 in the table.

Dean Ashton live on talkSPORT: "Big trouble again for Manchester City!

  • Haaland misfiring

Erling Haaland has had more big chances that any other player in the Champions League this season with 12.

He's only managed to score four of those...

The Norweigan has only netted once in his last four games in all competitions and he does seems off his usual form.

Man City will hope he can find the net in the second half.

And the games have just got back underway!

  • Around the grounds

Here are your half-time scores in the Champions League.

Arsenal lead Monaco thanks to Bukayo Saka's goal.

Only Mohamed Salah has been involved in more goals in all competitions among Premier League players than Saka this season.

The Gunners star has now had a hand in 19 in total (eight goals, 11 assists).

Elsewhere, Man City are still awaiting an opener and despite having lots of the ball, they've only really had one chance.

    • Arsenal 1-0 Monaco
    • Stuttgart 1-1 Young Boys
    • AC Milan 1-0 Red Star Belgrade
    • Juventus 0-0 Man City
    • Feyenoord 3-1 Sparta Prague
    • Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Barcelona
    • Benfica 0-0 Bologna
  • Lucky boy

The half-time whistle is blown around the grounds!

Gabriel Martinelli will be delighted to hear it, as he was very fortunate to not be sent off before the break at the Emirates...

The Brazilian was booked earlier in the half for a cynical clip, and he was cautioned for another one in stoppage time.

But the referee didn't get another yellow out for him!

Martinelli then made another foul just before the referee called time on the half too, with no card shown.

He's very lucky there and Mikel Arteta may look to bring him off...

  • CHANCE! Arsenal 1-0 Monaco

    Another one-on-one missed for Arsenal!

This time it's Martin Odegaard who wastes a chance.

The Gunners skipper breaks clear of the Monaco defence and he's got so much time to decide where to put his finish.

And he puts it wide of the far post!

Gabriel Martinelli then missed another free shot at goal a minute later, even though the offside flag was up.

If that had gone in, which it should have, VAR was likely to overturn that though, as Martinelli looked to be on...

  • CHANCE! Juventus 0-0 Man City

Erling Haaland is denied by Michele Di Gregorio!

The Man City striker is played in superbly by Kevin De Bruyne and he tries to dink it in...

But the Juventus goalkeeper flies out and gets a hand on it!

That's the best chance of the game for either team so far.

Dean Ashton live on talkSPORT: "Wrap it up and put a bow on it from De Bruyne, it was a magnificent ball to Haaland."

  • GOAL! Arsenal 1-0 Monaco: Bukayo Saka

    WE HAVE AN OPENER!

    BUKAYO SAKA SCORES FOR ARSENAL!

Gabriel Jesus makes up for his missed chances with a superb ball across goal to find Saka who taps in at the back post.

A lot of the Gunners team runs to Myles Lewis-Skelly after the goal though, as it was the teenager who started the move.

He brilliantly showed some skill as he stepped into midfield and then slid in Jesus who assisted Saka.

Darren Bent live on talkSPORT: "If Jesus can't find the net himself...it's a great assist."

  • CHANCE! Arsenal 0-0 Monaco

    How has Gabriel Jesus missed?!

The Arsenal striker is clean through on goal, one-on-one with Radoslaw Majecki, but he can't finish.

It's a bouncing long ball that finds him and it sits up perfectly for him to finish as Majecki steps off...

However, his strike is straight at the goalkeeper who spreads himself out like a starfish to save.

Moments after that, Jesus gets in again, but Majecki denies him for a second time before collecting the loose ball.

    Arsenal should be 1-0 up.

  • Juventus 0-0 Man City

It's all Manchester City in Italy.

The Premier League side have had over 70 per cent of the ball.

They haven't had a shot yet though, with Juventus happy to sit deep and they're defending well so far.

It's going to be a tough task for City to break them down while they'll need to be wary of letting the hosts counter.

Kenan Yildiz has just came very close to an opener, as his shot skimmed just wide of the post with 20 minutes gone.

Dean Ashton live on talkSPORT: "You knew that was coming as soon as Danilo overlapped.

"The ball bounced but just ended up going wide in the end."

  • Arsenal 0-0 Monaco

The visitors aren't afraid to attack here.

They've looked threatening when going forward, with Aleksandr Golovin firing inches wide from the edge moments ago.

Arsenal are trying their best to keep the ball and get in behind Monaco when they push on.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is playing inverted from left-back, coming inside to play next to Declan Rice in midfield.

Darren Bent live on talkSPORT: "Monaco are getting after them.

"If Arsenal can beat the press, there are lots of gaps."

  • Juventus 0-0 Man City

Man City have had a lot of the ball early on.

Pep Guardiola's side are knocking it around well, however, they continue to look open at the back.

Francisco Conceicao has just won a corner after almost catching out Rico Lewis as Juventus press forward.

They're backed by a noisey home crowd tonight.

And it seems their success is most likely to come from a counter-attack, with the fans roaring them on as they break.
