Harry Kane continued his fine form this season to inspire Bayern Munich to victory on Friday night.

The England captain also set yet another Bundesliga record thanks to his eighth hat-trick for the club.

Kane scored all three goals as Bayern beat Augsburg 3-0 at the Allianz Arena.

He completed his treble with two strikes in stoppage time to reach 50 Bundesliga goals in just 43 matches.

In doing so, the 31-year-old becomes the fastest player in history to achieve that feat.

It comes just two months after Kane reached 50 Bundesliga goal contributions.

His tally of goals and assists came in 35 matches, eight fewer than previous record holder Erling Haaland.

Kane has now scored a staggering 64 goals in 61 appearances since joining the German giants last summer.

Those strikes include 20 in 17 matches across all competitions this term.

Meanwhile, he is now clear at the top of the Bundesliga scoring charts.

The former Tottenham striker also scored for England last weekend, with his penalty against the Republic of Ireland extending his record tally to 69.

As for Bayern, they extended their lead at the top of the table with Friday's victory over 10-man Augsburg.

Second place RB Leipzig are eight points further back but have played a game less.

They are in action on Saturday away to Hoffenheim, who are just above the drop zone.

Elsewhere, third-place Eintracht Frankfurt host Werder Bremen, so Bayern's lead could be cut into.

Kane and Bayern are next in action at home to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Strangely, the former Tottenham star decided to switch up his usual post-match video after Jamal Musiala impersonated him in October.

On that occasion, the German international scored a hat-trick against Mainz in the DFB Pokal and proceeded to copy Kane's hat-trick routine word for word.

This prompted Kane to change things up.

Speaking on his personal Instagram account after scoring the treble, Kane said: "It's time for another video with the match ball.

"I am trying to switch it up because Jamal took the mick out of me.

"There isn't much else to say, to be honest.

"Another clean sheet. Another three goals. Big thanks to the team, as always.

"We keep it going. We keep the momentum. Big week ahead.
