Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany has done away with something his predecessor did, but Harry Kane will not be a beneficiary of the big change.

During Thomas Tuchel's time in charge of the German giants, he often held training sessions during the international breaks for those who were not called up to their respective nations.

However, Kompany, who was appointed Bayern boss in the summer, has reportedly opted for a player-first approach.

Instead of putting on sessions for those stuck in Munich, Kompany has given those left behind a week off, per German publication SportBild.

Kompany's reported change comes amid mass complaints from players in regards to playing too many fixtures in a season.

The pushback from players has been so severe that Manchester City midfielder and Ballon d'Or winner Rodri boldly suggested they may go on strike to protest fixture congestion.

Sadly, Kane is one of several Bayern stars who will not benefit from Kompany's change given he is on international duty with England.

A week off would certainly have been welcomed by Kane given he made a staggering 55 appearances for club and country last season.

Kane has also featured in every Bayern and England fixture this term, with the exception of the Three Lions' 2-1 Nations League loss to Greece in October.

The 31-year-old is likely to feature once again in England's upcoming Nations League fixtures against Greece and Ireland on Thursday and Sunday respectively.

England must beat Greece if they are to have a chance of achieving automatic promotion from League B.

Otherwise it will mean the Three Lions' stars have another fixture to add to the schedule in the form of a promotion and relegation play-off against a third-placed team from League A.

Kane will have to lead the line with a new-look attack behind him given the raft of withdrawals from England's squad.

Attacking stars such as Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka all pulled out of international duty, with Jarrod Bowen and Morgan Rogers among five late inclusions to interim boss Lee Carsley's squad.

Kane will hope to bring his goalscoring form for Bayern with him given he has 11 league goals from 10 games.

The 31-year-old also has five Champions League goals from four appearances, although four of those came against Dinamo Zagreb and fired blanks against Aston Villa and Benfica.

As for Kompany's side, they have won five games without conceding a goal since a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Barcelona in the Champions League on October 23.

Bayern also sit five points clear of second-placed RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga ladder.
